Ceiling Fan Wattage Regulator
I was experiencing flickering of my led lightbulbs.
Ceiling fan wattage regulator. The wattage regulator has nothing to do with speed of fan or brightness of bulbs or for a remote. Sold by ceiling fan controls megamart and ships from amazon fulfillment. I couldn t find any t. After researching on line was able to isolate the problem.
Hunter sells a wiring harness kit for our pull chain fans that includes all the electrical components that can be replaced including the capacitor wattage limiter and switches. Some of the model numbers can be 98480x 98480 01 98480 02 98480 03 99245x pl 190a pl 190b pl 190c etc etc. Obviously this is so they can comply with the energy conservation act by limiting the wattage of light bulbs and the types of bulbs that are used. From other videos forums and website the wattage limiter seemed to be the issue.
The light limiter or no bypass module used on a ceiling fan controls the wattage to the light kit. It limits the bulbs to 3 40 w incandescent equivalent bulbs which is way too low to light the room ade read more. 1 most ceiling fan manufacturers are installing a wattage limiter in the ceiling fan for the light kit portion. This is an old video now but as of 2018 i have since went over to led bulbs.
The hunter part 98480 02 wattage limiter controller. Harbor breeze has a ceiling fan and light kit with a wattage limiter that i would like to remove. I checked the pull switch and it is fine.
This does not come with a remote control. My hunter douglas fan used a 3 wire limiter marked l 101 and 180 watts. After years of service and correct operation the fan still works fine but the lights stopped working. My suggestion is to cut out this limiter and go led.
